About Us
Wollies Animal Shelter started in 2003 from humble beginnings. The initial purpose Wollies had was to sterilize as many animals as possible.
It did not end with this sterilization project. We started helping abandoned, neglected and abused animals.
We subsequently became registered as a non-profit, pro-life organisation that does not receive any government funding. Every cat and dog stay with us until they find their forever homes. Life is what we offer them and we will never take these rights away.
We STRONGLY believe that if people are educated on the benefits of sterilization and if these costs were more affordable, then there would be fewer abandoned, abused and homeless animals.

Sterilization / Castration
As most of you know, we offer a sterilization and castration service at a very reasonable rate. We will only work on bookings for these services which take place on Tuesdays only.
R150 PER PET
Microchip
For just R150 we will microchip your pet and register the chip number on the Identipet.com website for you. All adopted cats and dogs are microchipped and registered on the Identipet website as well.
Cremation Services
If you have a pet that has passed you are welcome to bring your pet to Wollies as we have a Cremation service that collects pets that have passed on to be cremated.

Sterilization / Castration
We encourage and welcome you to make use of this service. Drop off time is between 06h00 and 06h45 and the drop off place is at Wollies Animal Shelter. We place a name tag on your furry friend in the morning and give you a form to complete (this form will accompany your animal to the vet)

Sterilization / Castration
Please take note that we do not have card facilities so we kindly request that you bring along the sterilization fee in cash on the morning of the drop-off. We make payment to our vet on the morning of the drop off so please help us to ensure the process is as smooth as possible.

We have a daily influx of unwanted pets from puppies to small, medium and large breed dogs as well as kittens and cats that are available for adoption and looking for a forever home just like yours. Once you meet your pet sole mate, life becomes a little lighter with all the love and kisses they bestow on you. These numbers are just of new intakes versus adoptions for the year to date to give potential forever homes an idea of the huge need for forever homes. With winter at our doorstep, the older and smaller fur babies really suffer not being able to sleep indoors. If you think you have a place in your heart and your home to adopt one of our fur babies, please make the time to come and visit us.
